Scholarships to Attend the APSI

Each year, the College Board awards scholarships for qualifying teachers to attend an AP Summer Institute (APSI). For additional information, please visit the AP College Board webpage available here.

What do the scholarships cover?

The College Board APSI scholarships cover the cost of tuition and lab fees (if applicable) at a CollegeBoard endorsed APSI fitting the criteria of the scholarship. After APSI sessions start, APSIs invoice the College Board directly for the cost of tuition and lab fees (if applicable). The College Board then pays the tuition cost directly to the APSI.

Remaining funds for both Fellow and Rural scholarships, if the APSI was in-person/on-site and after the APSI has been paid, will be sent to the teacher to be applied toward travel expenses.

*Please note: Scholarship only covers the cost of tuition and lab fees (if applicable) up to the scholarship amount; all other APSI costs, including but not limited to tuition cost above scholarship amount, lodging, and food, are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient and should be billed to the scholarship recipient, not College Board.

Kentucky Teachers: For those who qualify, check with your local AdvanceKY and GEAR UP representatives for more information about opportunities for financial support.
